Galápagos Part I

We just got back to mainland Ecuador and we're completely wiped after doing day trips and spending 10 nights total on three different islands. After flying into the Galápagos, travelers will either take a cruise from island to island or book day trips. There are advantages to each, but to keep it simple, a cruise allows you to wake up at a new island each day and it takes out the effort of negotiating day trips. However, they are much more expensive and most of the cruises during offseason will visit islands that you can do yourself. The day trips allow you the flexibility to take your time in places you enjoy and move on from more crowded areas. In the end, you will spend less money doing day trips and you can still see most of the islands if you're up for it. This post has our pics from Santa Cruz and its surrounding islands but look out for the second and third posts detailing the rest of the trip. Look through the pics, tell us what you think, and ask us anything about the islands.
